Aluminum foil tapes are key tapes with a variety of uses in a wide range of industries. Aluminum foil has excellent chemical and heat resistance and is largely unaffected by exposure to many acidic and alkaline conditions, maintaining its chemical resistance at temperatures up to 500°C. In terms of shielding effectiveness (S.E.), aluminum is inferior to copper. This is due to its lower electrical conductivity. The strong nature of the aluminum oxide layer prevents it from being welded. Due to this feature, aluminum foil tapes are often used for shielding of engines, cables, cabinets, antennas and components.
