Identify the adhesive feed format before comparing hot melt formulations. A quotation for glue sticks and a quotation for bulk material do not describe the same receiving item. First establish what the existing application equipment is designed to accept, then ask the supplier to identify a proposed adhesive and supply form for technical review.
Haoxuan lists Hot Melt Glue Stick and Bulk Hot Melt separately. These entries support a distinction between offered product categories. They do not prove that an unspecified grade can be used in a particular gun, melter or production line. Equipment compatibility and bonding performance remain separate decisions.
Read the receiving equipment requirement first
Start with the equipment model and its documented adhesive requirements. Record whether the current process uses solid sticks or a bulk feed arrangement, and identify the specification or manual used as the reference. A photograph can help describe the equipment, but should not replace its documented requirements.
Ask the equipment owner to identify any unresolved compatibility question. Purchasing should not guess a feed size from an opening or treat the word “standard” as a complete interface description. If the equipment documentation is unavailable, keep the format decision open and obtain suitable clarification before ordering material for a production trial.
This is a purchasing review, not an instruction to alter equipment, adjust temperatures or substitute an adhesive in service. The responsible technical team should follow the equipment and adhesive suppliers’ applicable instructions for any evaluation.
For sticks, specify the physical interface in full
A stick inquiry should identify the required diameter, length and any relevant tolerances stated by the equipment requirements. Keep the units visible. Ask the adhesive supplier to confirm the dimensions of the exact proposed version rather than relying on an unqualified compatibility statement.
Haoxuan’s glue-stick listing mentions common gun sizes, but an example in a catalog should not become a guarantee for every tool using a similar nominal size. A buyer still needs the exact offered stick dimensions and the equipment owner’s acceptance of the proposed combination. Physical fit also does not establish that the adhesive grade meets the application requirements.
If a reference stick is supplied, label its origin and whether it represents the approved current item or merely an unidentified sample. Record dimensional measurements with their method and uncertainty where needed. Do not replace a documented specification with a single measurement of a loose sample.
For bulk material, name the supplied form and handling unit
“Bulk hot melt” describes a broader supply route and needs further definition. Ask the supplier to state the proposed physical form, grade reference and packing unit. Confirm that the receiving equipment owner has reviewed that form; do not infer suitability merely because the equipment also processes hot melt adhesive.
Keep the material’s physical form separate from its shipping package. A bag, box or other container identifies a delivery unit, not necessarily the feed geometry or equipment compatibility. Record the net mass per package and how the ordered quantity will be expressed, using the supplier’s confirmed offer.
Where a line uses a specific approved material, identify that reference and ask whether the proposed supply is the same grade or an alternative requiring review. A similar appearance or general adhesive-family description is insufficient evidence of interchangeability.
Compare offers using two separate approval gates
Use a format gate and an application gate. The format gate asks whether the proposed item and packaging can be received and used within the documented equipment requirements. The application gate asks whether the identified adhesive is suitable for the actual bonding task. Passing one gate does not automatically pass the other.
| Purchasing question | Stick route | Bulk route |
|---|---|---|
| What physical item is quoted? | Identified stick with confirmed dimensions | Identified material form and grade |
| What is the equipment reference? | Exact tool model and accepted stick requirements | Exact system and documented material requirements |
| What quantity will arrive? | Confirmed count or mass basis and packing structure | Confirmed net mass, package count and packing structure |
| What remains to be established? | Grade suitability and application acceptance | Grade suitability and application acceptance |
Complete each field from an actual requirement or supplier response. Leave a missing answer open. The table is a comparison tool, not a specification of available Haoxuan pack sizes or a recommendation to move an adhesive between different equipment types.
Describe the bonding task after the format is clear
Identify the actual substrates, relevant coatings or finishes, joint arrangement and intended service conditions. State the outcome the bond must achieve and the method by which the responsible team will assess it. If the existing process has an approved test or reference part, include that information with the inquiry.
Ask which technical data and handling information apply to the exact proposed grade. Terms such as open time, viscosity or softening point need their stated conditions and methods before meaningful comparison. A catalog claim about a broad adhesive family should not be copied into the acceptance criteria for an untested grade.
Keep proposed processing requirements, supplier statements and observed trial results in separate fields. If a trial has not occurred, label the result as pending. This avoids turning a technical discussion into an implied production approval.
Clarify count, mass and receiving identity
Two offers can appear to cover the same quantity while using different units. One may quote a number of sticks, another a net mass, and a third a number of packages. Ask for the conversion information that is actually confirmed for the offered item; do not calculate a precise stick count from an assumed density or nominal geometry.
Agree how the grade and lot will be identified on the delivered package and linked to the order. Record the specification revision and any proposed substitution. Receiving staff should be able to distinguish the approved item from a trial alternative without guessing from color or packaging appearance.
Request a format-specific quotation
Contact Haoxuan with the equipment model, documented feed requirements, current material reference if available, application substrates, required quantity basis and destination. For sticks, include the required dimensions; for bulk material, identify the accepted form and packing constraints. Ask the supplier to confirm the proposed grade, supply format, relevant technical documents and unresolved compatibility questions.
The useful outcome is a clearly identified candidate for review, with its equipment interface and application requirements kept distinct. That allows the buyer to compare offers on a common basis before a technical team makes the separate decision to approve a trial or production use.
