Protection Without Creating a New Defect
A temporary film must stay in place through manufacturing, transport or installation and then remove without residue, staining, gloss change or adhesive transfer. Surface chemistry and texture are therefore as important as film thickness.
Define the Surface
- Material: stainless steel, aluminum, painted panel, glass, plastic, stone or flooring
- Finish: gloss, matte, brushed, coated, textured or porous
- Condition: clean, oily, dusty, newly coated or fully cured
Define the Exposure
State application temperature, storage period, outdoor or indoor exposure, UV, humidity, transport vibration, forming process and removal timing. Adhesion may build over time, so both early and late removal should be evaluated.
Conversion and Packing
Confirm width, length, film color, print, winding direction, core, perforation and edge requirements. Large rolls need suitable packaging to prevent edge damage and telescoping.
Recommended Trial
Apply to the actual production surface, expose it to the intended process and inspect removal under controlled conditions. Record surface batch, dwell time and temperature.
